ONE STEP OVER
This is the second CD release by Harry B. and the JukeBoxBabies. Their first self-titled release featured mostly electric guitar work whereas this CD features more piano and acoustic guitars. Yes, they still have some hot electric guitar sounds, but scaled way back.
It opens with "Opus", an eight-minute composition, that ushers you into a multi-layered, lush symphonic trip back in time and into the future. This then sets you squarely down into the present with the seminal "Fat Man", "Lotus Blossom", "Sheherazade", While I Lay Sleeping", "Laughing", "Poison Ivy", and other unforgettable songs that will take you, many places but mainly into your own heart. So come on along, and take ONE STEP OVER into the world sounds of the "JukeBoxBabies" with fourteen all new original songs by Harry B.

A PERSONAL NOTE FROM HARRY B.
One of the advantages of growing up in the 1960's and playing in bands during that tumultuous period of American History is that you remember songs when they came out. Not just when, but in what order, how they evolved, and when things changed musically. Before they were oldies. The JukeBoxBabies were there, running to the record store buying the latest 45 by the hottest bands just like everybody else. Back then it was all about singles. These inspired us to write and perform songs that sounded just like the bands on the radio. We even played the same stages with some of those bands because we all were doing the same songs, the new hot singles of the day. And they were just that...hot! Not only were they new and fresh, most were genius pieces that are still played today on "oldies" stations. What's interesting is that the generations following us Baby Boomers listen to them too. And that's because those pieces represent real music being played by real people with all their rhapsodies of thrill and even their interesting flaws. Current music can't compete with this high-bar virtuousity nor do they try. This leaves a huge market of music listeners who aren't being served in today's world of robotic and synthesized EDMs and rap music.
That's where the JukeBoxBabies come in. We still play in a "band", we still write songs just like they did back in the golden era of the 50's, 60's and 70's. If you love the oldies, the golden oldies, but wish there were songs like that being written today, give the JukeBoxBabies a listen. I"m not saying you're going to love every songs we do because we cover a huge variety of sounds from beach music to rock music to acoustic to ethnic to psychedelic. From the rock song about the "Fat Man", who owns everything and keeps it all away from you, to the lonely "Lotus Blossom", the girl with almond eyes from across the deep sea, "The Love You'[ll Never Have Again", and "While I Lay Sleeping", the song where "fire flew to earth that night and set their hears ablaze", or the symphonic, "Opus", the lush eight minute masterpiece that recalls days when the Moon was Dark and the Blues were still Moody, it's a heady ride.
I guarantee you've not heard anything like this band in a long time. Each song is meticulously written and produced. And you don't have to run out and buy these 14 singles like we did in the past. We've put them all together for you on this, our second CD and called it, "One Step Over". If you like what you hear, be sure and check out our first self-titles CD with 14 more original songs the band thinks you're sure to enjoy as well.
